It all begins with the battery. If your car won’t start, or if it's more difficult to start than usual, you may need to recharge or even replace your battery. If you’re concerned about your battery’s performance, pull into your local Tuffy location, and we’ll check it out for you.
There are a few things you can do to prolong your battery life. Park your vehicle indoors, if possible. Make sure you turn off all interior and exterior lights each time you get out of your car. Check your battery terminals and wires to ensure there’s no corrosion and that the connections are tight.
Regularly scheduled maintenance will also help you keep an eye out for any issues that can rob your battery’s juice. Cold Illinois winters may also necessitate installing a cold weather battery with a minimum rating of 600 cold cranking amps.
Not sure which kind of battery your vehicle needs? Your Tuffy technician will be able to tell you what your vehicle’s manufacturer recommends, or which type of battery might be appropriate based on your driving habits and the weather conditions you most often encounter. |
