The fluctuating temperatures in our region are just one reason you should get regular oil changes in Chicago.
Low temperatures, like those during Chicago’s infamous winters, make oil sludgy and thick, which can make it hard to start an engine. That’s why we recommend using lower viscosity oil from November to April.
However, once the weather starts to warm up, it’s important to switch back to a more viscose oil. High temperatures make oil thinner, and oil that’s too thin won’t protect engine parts against wear and tear as well as it should and can cause leaks in the seals.
If you haven’t changed your oil since the temperatures were low, stop by your neighborhood Tuffy location today. We’ll serve all your needs for your oil changes in Chicago. You don’t even need an appointment!
