Brand Becomes First Chain to Partner With ANYWHERECARE
In the cluttered automotive repair category, Tuffy Associates Corp. commissioned Doner to help develop a new category first-brand promise and integrated campaign that will serve to differentiate itself from the competition.
Tuffy—one of the largest full-service automotive repair franchises in the country—is introducing the category-defining promise, “Done Right. Period.”, which provides customers a one-year, 12,000-mile warranty on parts and labor for work done at a Tuffy Tire and Auto Center.
“Many brands in our industry offer some type of guarantee—but they’re buried, conditional or too restrictive,” said Roger Hill, CEO, president, Tuffy Associates Corp. “Our promise is front and center with an easy to understand message, the work we do is ‘Done Right. Period.’”
Tuffy is able to cover their customers under this umbrella, free of charge, by becoming the first national chain auto service center to partner with ANYWHERECARE, a national limited warranty company. Additionally, customers will also be eligible for ANYWHERECARE’s roadside assistance program.
Tuffy will also create a best-in-class in-store experience by renovating its locations with a fresh new color scheme, state-of-the-art digitized menu boards, free Wi-Fi, leather seating and unique customer takeaways.
“There’s a perception that the quality of work and customer service varies from store to store at franchised auto service centers, and we wanted to combat that,” said David DeMuth, co-CEO, president, Doner. “By creating a clear and consistent campaign that delivers an easy to understand nationwide guarantee, we can separate Tuffy as a quality and trustworthy brand.”
The “Done Right. Period.” integrated campaign includes radio, social, direct, print and in-store to convey this promise using modern and filtered photography and a touch of hardworking humor.
“We wanted to create a meaningful differentiation among Tuffy’s competitors,” said Rob Strasberg, co-CEO, chief creative officer, Doner. “‘Done Right. Period.’ promises 100% customer satisfaction in a very straightforward manner, and the creative reinforces this promise with lighthearted humor and a blue-collar tone that speaks in a straightforward style.”

The days leading up to Christmas are some of the busiest travel days of the year. Make sure you’re prepared for your trip with these five tips.
1. Get an inspection. A quick check of all your vehicle’s systems will help prevent trouble on your trip.
2. Invest in assistance. AAA or roadside service through your insurance company will be your best friend in an unexpected situation such as getting a flat tire or running out of gas.
3. Plan a route. A GPS can guide you around heavily trafficked areas, but technology isn’t infallible, so bring a backup map, just in case.
4. Check the weather. If you’re traveling a long distance, you’ll want to know the forecast along your planned route so you can plan appropriately.
5. Pack a playlist. Music will keep you alert, oriented and tuned in for a good time. |

Chicago has already seen the first snow of the season and it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. Here are a few Tuffy tips to help your car survive the cold months ahead.
Wipers If they feel brittle, if they’re cracking, or if they smear water on your windshield, it’s time to invest in a new set. A highly rated, all-season blade will get you through the winter just fine, but you may want to choose a quality winter wiper that features a boot over the assembly to prevent snow and ice build-up. If you park outside, lift the blades away from the windshield to prevent them from freezing to the glass and prolong their useful life.
Tires Winter tires are made of a special rubber compound that enables them to keep better contact with the road surface, even in the snow and ice. Tuffy’s automotive care experts will help you choose the right winter tires for your vehicle and your budget.
Fluids Choose a windshield washer fluid with an antifreeze agent and keep the reservoir full.
Oil Oil can thicken in cold temperatures, so make sure you’re using a product that’s formulated for winter use. Anything with a “W” in the viscosity index, such as 10W-30, will work year-round.
Battery Check the terminals for signs of corrosion. Check the cables, too. They should be pliable and solidly connected to the posts. If the cables are cracking or peeling or loose at the post, bring your vehicle into Tuffy for battery service. Also, car batteries don’t perform as well at low temperatures. Tuffy will perform a load test on your battery to make sure it's fully charged.
Before winter settles in for the long haul, stop by your local Tuffy shop for a full winter inspection and we’ll make sure your vehicle is ready for the season. |

Did you know that you’re more likely to hit a deer with your car in the month of November than in any other month?
According to information collected by State Farm, you’re THREE TIMES more likely to hit a deer this month. In the state of Illinois, your odds of hitting a deer are 1 in 162.
Reduce your risk of a car/deer collision by following these tips from Global Animal.
- When possible, avoid roads where trees and brush have grown to the shoulder.
- Slow down, especially when traveling outside the city.
- Don’t swerve if a deer runs into the road.
- You might hit the deer, but you won’t hit a telephone pole, tree or oncoming car.
- Be observant. Deer startle easily and could bolt out in front of you unexpectedly.
- Where there’s one, there may be more. When you see a deer, watch for others nearby.
- If necessary, change your vehicle’s headlights so you can see the road and surrounding area clearly.
If you do hit a deer, pull off the roadway safely and call 911. And don’t approach the deer, no matter what. |
